What's it about?
Katies Birthday Party by Mary-Frances Doherty is a performance for 10 - 12 years olds, and explores what a young girl goes through in the change from primary school to secondary school – exams, results, new school, new friends and thoughts for the future - through the frame of an interactive birthday party.
In 2016 ‘Katie’s Birthday Party’ was performed as part of the 2016 Imaginate Festival, Scotland's international festival of performing arts for children and young people in Edinburgh; at The Egg in Bath; as part of Spurensuche, the International Children’s Festival in Cologne, Germany; represented Northern Ireland at On The Edge, the World Festival of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) and ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering in Birmingham; and at The Ark in Dublin as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival.
