Kentucky Bluegrass Concert with The McLain Family Band and Musicians form Morehead, Kentucky.

The Braid Arts Centre are delighted to welcome The McLain Family Band, who are celebrating 50 years in the business next year. Started by Raymond K. McLain and his children in 1968, the act grew to include two more siblings and the best of Kentucky Bluegrass Musicians.  They were Always a headline act at bluegrass and folk events and have released 14 successful recordings, and performed all over the world for the US State Department. They were frequent guests on television programs.

From 1972, the band has made some 16 international tours under the sponsorship of the US State Department. In addition to concerts at the Grand Ole Opry, the band also had dates with symphony orchestras at which they performed works such as Phillip Rhodes’ ‘Concerto For Bluegrass And Orchestra’, which was based upon original McLain themes. The band also appeared at Carnegie Hall and at the Lincoln Centre.

This concert is promoted through the Sister Cities International twinning with Kentucky and the Borough of Mid & East Antrim.

This is a foot stamping, hand clapping concert not to be missed !
