What's it about?

The Braid Comedy Club returns to the town hall stage with some of the most exciting comedy talent in the country

Headliner on the night is Sean Hegarty, best known for his character “Rodney”. Lurgan-based Sean has became a hit on the local circuit after appearing on the BBC TV show Find Me The Funny in 2009.  Since then Sean has performed at venues across the UK and gained a large online following.

We look forward to having the former winner of Ireland's Funniest Joke here on our town hall stage.

Sean will be joined by a familiar face on the night. Fellow local comic….and his wife……Diona Doherty. Diona has been performing on the local comedy circuit, as well as forging a successful television career with appearances in hit TV shows ‘Derry Girls’ and ‘Soft Border Patrol’

She also hosts a podcast ‘hanging with the Hegartys’ which sees a new episode uploaded every Wednesday. Having already played one of our Comedy Nights in the Front Page Bar we are happy to have Diona back to the Braid Comedy Club

Kicking off the night will be Lisburn-born stand-up comedian Alan Irwin. A former Chortle Student Comedy Award finalist, Alan has made appearances on BBC Radio Ulster’s “Live at the Sunflower” and “The Shane Todd Show”, as well as starring as Sandy on BBC NI’s sitcom “Soft Border Patrol”.
